More than 1 million users have been warned to take a “bait-and-switch” antivirus scan if they are running a virus variant found in the popular smartphone game “Panda.”

FoxNews.com reports that a notice on the Panda Virus Bulletin page said the game “has been found to be using a new virus variant that has been linked to Pandemic H5N1.”

“Pandemic H7N9 and Pandemic L1 are also found in this variant, which could cause a pandemic,” the notice said.

FoxNews reports that “Panther” is a popular mobile game for Windows PCs, with the game now in over 1.3 million downloads.

Panda was created by a Japanese studio in 2009, and it was released in North America in 2011.

The game has since been updated with new features, including new features that include more characters and graphics.
